Results of investigation of representative flying schools throughout 12 Western states, made by this magazine to determine what potential market for airplanes is; 46 schools gave total of 2001 students taking up flying; 50 per cent of students of one school took up flying for sport only; at least 20 pilots trained to each out-and-out mechanic; cost of dual instruction course pretty well standardized; lengthening rather than shortening of hours spent in both flight and ground instruction.
