A-7-R is 7-cylinder, static, radial, air-cooled engine developing 150 hp. at 1800 r.p.m.; compensating rocker boxes maintain given tappet clearances regardless of temperature; cam rollers installed in roller arms to eliminate side thrust; push-rod housings and other accessories mounted on rear of engine to reduce wind resistance; weights 430 lb. without propeller hub; 4 1/2-in. bore and 5 1/2-in. stroke with 612.15 cu. in. displacement; 8.6 gal. gasoline and .35 gal. oil per hour.
