Four separate flights, each made with object of showing some particular function of slotted-wing machine; demonstration of stalling machine from about 200 ft., without any power to flatten out; vertical rate of descent, 9 ft. per second; Moth appeared to descend in series of steps; under-carriage itself was entirely undamaged but fuselage gave way; automatic slots greatly reduced seriousness of mistakes in piloting.
