Beardmore Tornado engines of R 101 are of Diesel type burning heavy oil, whereas R 100 has gasoline engines; gas-bag capacity of R 101 is 5,000,000 cu. ft.; accommodation for 100 passengers; 4000-mi. range; 70 m.p.h. minimum speed; cabins have steam heat; auxiliary gasoline engines for starting; system of transferring lifting power of gasbags to ship.
