Aerial forest firepatrol service in western Montana and northern Idaho was inaugurated July 1, by Mamer Flying Service for U. S. Forest Service; two Whirlwind-engined planes are being used for work, Buhl Air-sedan and new Stearman three-place plane; former to be used for vertical photographic mapping with Fairchild K3 camera.
