Aircraft radio-beacon system under intensive development by Bureau of Standards; airplane need only be provided with small receiving set carrying indicator; experimental work done previously; form most recently developed consists of two vibrating steel reeds; receiving set weighs less than 15 lb. and power supply is 6-volt battery weighing 15 lb.; reed indicator also used to transmit messages to pilot when necessary.
