Turboprop makes possible cargo transport operation from short airfields through its ability to give short takeoff distances and high angles of climb and descent; with lower gross weights to do given job, smaller number of engines required, and good fuel savings, it is also exceptionally economical; therefore, it is suggested that turboprop can provide nation with maximum cargo transport capability for each dollar expended.
