New oil jetty at Mombasa, Kenya, is designed for tankers of 47,000 to 50,000 dw tons and has been dredged to depth of 44 ft; jetty can be later dredged to 47 ft for vessels of 65,000 to 70,000 dw tons; jetty head is 130 ft long by 50 ft wide and consists of reinforced concrete slab and beam deck, 8 in. thick, supported on Frodingham octagonal steel box piles; berthing and mooring dolphins, and oil handling equipment are described.
