Use of electronic computers to solve port administration problems is illustrated by 2 applications; one example in Great Britain, employs computer mainly to carry out accountancy functions and statistical analysis; other example in United States, uses computer for operational purposes to control shipments and warehousing, and to obtain maximum utilization of port facilities, berths, docks, cranes, railways, and land transport.
