Aspects of geometrical layout and traffic operation of roundabouts and traffic signals; method of determining shape and size of weaving sections of roundabouts is suggested; results of investigations at signal-controlled intersections show effect on capacity of approach width, gradient traffic composition, proportion of turning traffic and other features of site; formula is given for capacity of individual weaving sections of roundabout; methods of estimating delay at both signals and round-abouts have been developed using results from traffic simulations.
