Calculations of steady-state temperatures, and of temperature, mass, and trajectory histories of droplets in h-p and high-temperature environments were made to determine under what conditions critical point is reached by vaporizing drops; liquid heptane and liquid oxygen propellants were studied; boundary conditions for calculations were representative of those occurring in high-intensity combustion fields that exist in rocket engines; total gas pressures up to 2000 psi were investigated; results are presented graphically; significance to combustor design and to combustion-instability mechanisms is shown.
