Details of new 6-cylinder engine built for cargo motorship, Ramses of Deutsch-Austral and Kosmos Lines, developing 4400 hp. at 84 r.p.m.; scavenging air enters through duct serving middle of cylinder and passing through independent ports in cylinder walls to upper and lower cylinder ends; all ports are on one side of cylinder unit, this arrangement having been found most efficient; trial results.
