By using methods now being developed in investigation of rectangular framed structures, author first deduces expressions for forces in transverse ring structure of ships under various conditions of loading, all of which structures are so selected as to be statically determinate; basic equations for various forms of ring and types of loading are first deduced and these form basis for subsequent investigation of various hyperstatic fences introduced by closed structure; formulas are set up for structures with 1, 2 and 3 rows of pillars, and finally ship-in-dock problem is investigated. See brief translated abstract in Mar. Engr. and Motorship Bldr., vol. 49, no. 586, June 1926, p. 236. (See also - no. 8 Apr. 21 pp. 233-236)
