Discusses Cardan-drive developments on German street cars; several 2-axle designs have been developed using both one and two motors; experiments are being carried on by several railways; Albrecht-Krupp Cardan drive includes two motors which are suspended from car flooring; these motors drive large spur gear through insulated flexible couplings; this drive shows 96 per cent efficiency in spur gearing and 95 per cent efficiency in bevel gearing.
