"Crown City" launched by Moore Dry Dock Co is for carriage of vehicles and 500 passengers by San Diego and Coronado Ferry Co; length bp 230 ft; breadth, hull molded 46 ft; depth molded 17 ft 3 in.; vessel was prefabricated in eight sections of approximately 50 tons each; each 102-in. Coolidge propeller will be driven by Westinghouse 1000 hp electric propulsion motor; power is furnished by three 300-kw generator sets and three 515 hp Atlas Imperial Diesel engines.
