Marconi Argus display enables true motion to be presented on ship's-head-up display while allowing operator to revert to North-up, still with true motion, to assist him in comparing radar information with chart; results are achieved by first producing compass stabilized picture on crt and then arranging that whole crt with its scanning system, etc, is stabilized against changes in heading of own ship; this is done by mounting crt and associated components so that it is free in display cabinet to be rotated about its axis by drive from compass repeater motor; technical details and basic circuit diagram are included.
