Single pulse laser which has been built into rifle form of range finder for military use; developed at Hughes Aircraft Co, California, device has measured distances up to 7 mi in broad daylight with accuracy of 15 ft, and is claimed to be capable of ranging on buildings and landmarks with same accuracy at up to 60 mi in ideal atmospheric conditions; operating sequence is outlined.
