Role of manned space stations, mission objectives and design requirements; typical space laboratory is described including integration of various subsystems; small crew, space laboratory designed for 1965 deployment could be utilized for collecting vital information in support of major space programs involving lunar and Mars missions; role of space stations, mission objectives, and design of particular class of space stations converted from expended booster stage are shown.
