Problem of determining stability is treated as perturbation of classical acoustics problem; analysis is developed for stability of stationary pressure waves in chambers using either liquid or gaseous propellants; formulation is for 3-dimensional case; computations are carried out for cylindrical chamber in which mean flow velocity is parallel to axis and varies only with axial position.
