In considering feasibility of radioisotope electrostatic propulsion system, number of problems, such as radioisotope availability, radiation hazards, and mating with chemical boosters, arise; paper assesses problems, possible solutions and estimates potentialities of system; it is shown that systems using Ce-144 as fuel and incorporated into small vehicles capable of being mated to available chemical boosters could provide good performance in various missions without undue radiation hazards.
