Details of some activities of laboratory, mission of which is to stimulate industrial propellant research; Project Scorpio 200,000 lb-thrust research engine consisting of 8 thrust chambers clustered around common nozzle is scheduled for test firing in Dec 1963; solid systems in advanced development phase are reinforced grain motor concept aimed at providing higher performance in upper-stage solid motors and upper-stage motor with light metal additive to produce very high performance; 3 liquid systems under study; other activities in which laboratory is engaged and work done in propellant division.
