To accommodate requirements of growth, survivability, flexibility, reliability, and security, Defense Communication System's existing and planned facilities are to be augmented by Defense Communications Satellite Program, integrated into operational DCS as soon as feasible; DCS consists of one national control center, 4 area-control centers, and 6 regional centers each of which has several DCS switching stations which supply communications service to designed users; generalized model of tracking and orbital computation subsystem considered for program.
