Design objectives of meteorological satellite system that will provide basic data on worldwide atmospheric processes for real-time use in weather forecasting and for research studies; modular aspect of Nimbus and development of subsystems; delays encountered; in present configuration, spacecraft contains one 3-camera Advanced Vidicon Camera Subsystem, (AVCS), one single camera Automatic Picture Transmission Subsystem, (APTS), and High Resolution Infrared Radiometer, (HRIR), in addition to minimum spacecraft elements described.
