As result of numerous amendments, Lloyd's Electrical Rules have become somewhat unwieldy and difficult to administer for international application; rules are restricted to considerations of safety of ship and cargo, including fire risks, and are now in 20 sections of which first gives general requirements that apply throughout subsequent specialist sections; main changes in various sections are reported.
