Propeller is intended for cargo/passenger vessel building by Burrard Drydock Co, Vancouver, BC, for Northland Navigation Co service which requires frequent maneuvering into and out of narrow harbors, while schedule is tight; thus, ship has been fitted with transverse propeller as well as with controllable-pitch propeller; latter is of Werkspoor type, with hub and blades of Lips manufacture; transverse propeller installation has output of 320 hp; it consists of 2 pump sets (4 pumps) driven by 2 electric motors, each with output of 160 hp.
