Results for 4-bladed 0.60 expanded-area ratio merchant ship propeller series over range of advance coefficient and at cavitation numbers from low values for twin screw passenger liner propellers to higher values for large single screw cargo ship; variations studied are pitch-ratio, distribution of area and pitch, and changes in blade section shape; design charts and cavitation diagrams; consideration of specific designs of 4 and 5-bladed propellers for passenger liner, and 5 and 6-bladed units for large tanker.
