Mathematically defined, fully restrained, ship form was towed in regular waves to measure exciting forces and moments acting on it; results are compared with theoretical values computed both on basis of assumptions made in Froude-Krylov hypothesis and extension of this hypothesis which accounts for ship wave interference; for low values of draft to wavelength ratio, number of presently available prediction techniques are in agreement and are reasonably accurate.
