Spacecraft designed to soft-land payload of scientific instruments on moon, conduct experiments, and transmit results back to earth; 7 missions are planned; tracking, guidance and operational command, and data receipt will be accomplished through stations of Deep Space Instrumentation Facility at Goldstone, Calif, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Woomera, Australia; details of scientific payload, spacecraft vehicle and its landing provisions, flight control, telecommunications system, propulsion system, electrical power supply, and support equipment.
