Investigations were made for Saturn V vehicle to be launched from Cape Canaveral into circular orbit that lies in specified plane; purpose is to obtain, as function of allowable performance loss, launch window, i.e., certain time interval about optimum launch time within which launch may occur, resulting in no more than allowable performance loss; analysis is performed using 3-dimensional calculus of variations flight deck for flight out of atmosphere, resulting in optimum maneuvers both in and out of plane.
