Development of in-flight maintenance capability is complicated by hostile environments, flight regimes, mission durations, and weight and size limitations; maintenance is defined as all actions necessary for retaining of material in, or restoring it to, serviceable condition to meet mission requirements; training requirements, time limitations, environmental parameters, and possible malfunctions are highlighted.
