Automatic system for controlling all cargo valves during any cargo handling or ballast operation is result of collaboration between several firms; requirements were for control of cargo line valves according to prearranged plan when loading, handling of several grades of cargo simultaneously, during discharge and at pre-set levels valves in main cargo lines were to close and stripping was to commence automatically, simple programming method, inclusion of remote manual control, etc; arrangement diagram; where possible, available components were used.
