First British ship contracted and delivered from German yard since war built for United Baltic Corp by Werft Nobiskrug; length bp 285 ft 5 1/4 in., breadth molded 42 ft 3 in., depth molded 13 ft 6 in.; propelled by twin 1800 bhp MAK engines on single shaft which are first 10-cyl engines to be built by Maschinenbau Kiel, A.G.; when developing 1800 bhp at 300 rpm, output of engine is 40% above that of corresponding normally aspirated engine.
