Maid of Ashton is first of four twin screw vessels, forming part of replacement scheme planned for Clyde services of British Railways; length oa 165 ft; it can carry total of 627 passengers and is propelled by two 6-cyl Diesel engines developing 1300 bhp at 425 rpm.
