Describes theory of calculations and methods in use in U. S. Navy Bur. of Aeronautics. Principal stresses are said to be due to gas pressure and unequal distribution of weight and buoyancy, and concentrated loads from car suspension cables. Deals also with variations of tensions in car suspension cables of any type of airship, with special reference to rigid type, due to propeller thrust or inclination of airship longitudinally.
