Notes on ship's radar, known as Predictor and developed by Marconi, which will show not only surrounding traffic situation as it is and has been, but will plot result of any contemplated change of course or speed; four modes of display, selected by pushbutton, are -- relative motion radar picture of present position of all targets, moving or stationary, including coast lines; true tracks of all moving targets during preceding 1 1/2, 3 or 6 min; relative tracks; prediction, where contemplated changes of course and speed are set and display shows relative motion tracks of all targets as if own ship were already on proposed new course.
