Double sampling of sedimentation is achieved with device that attaches to stream flow measuring flume; sampler was used in watershed engineering studies at Walnut Gulch experimental watershed near Tombstone, Ariz; 1-in. wide by 12-in. high open metal slot intake traverses downstream edge of V-floor supercritical-depth flume; slot intake, powered by electric motor and chain drive, moves at uniform speed along track to collect width-integrated sample.
