Summary of results of ground testing of spinning solid rockets, with particular emphasis on motors used as sounding rockets, and comparison of data to free-flight results; motors discussed include Bristol Aerospace, Black Brant III; Aerojet General Corp, ALCOR IA; Thiokoi Chemical Corp, TE-388; Lockheed Propulsion Co, HYDAC I and II; and Naval Ordnance Test Station NOTS 551; principle effects noted have been associated with accelerations to fundamental propellant combustion and flow processes, and deposition of hot combustion residue within motor chamber.
