Coupling between pitch and yaw axes of rocket-engine gimbaling system is caused by compliance of structure to which engine and its pitch and yaw gimbaling actuators are mounted; effects of coupling on stability and response of engine gimbaling servos during ground operation and on vehicle attitude control system during flight were analyzed using control system theory; structural compliance characteristics were defined by influence coefficient matrix, elements of which were determined by redundant force analysis; results obtained are presented.
