Paper presents status of efforts on electric propulsion over past several years at Jet Propulsion Laboratory; low-thrust mission analysis and two basic elements, simulation of system under study, and data production and presentation for system design; both elements have passed through significant development; study to determine feasibility of developing large arrays, meeting goal of 50 lb/kw and development of three array techniques under study, semirigid panel concept, aluminum concentrator panel, and folding modular solar-array concept.
