Function of any guidance system selecged for Europa rocket is to generate steering demands so that trajectory flown results in minimum consumption of fuel and that required orbital velocity and height at injection are achieved with maximum accuracy; responsibilities for design and manufacture of system are listed; description of system, sources and magnitudes of error in radio guidance system and method of operation of inertial guidance system. Presented before -- All-Day Symposium on ELDO, held by Astronautics and Guided Flight Sec of Roy Aeronautical Soc on Feb 7 1968.
