Stability boundaries for slender, flexible satellite under influence of solar heating are studied; concept of phase space shows that limiting condition of stability corresponds to invariant surface with largest surface area; importance of such phase space representation is emphasized as for given eccentricity, satellite length and material, and solar aspect angle, it provides all possible combinations of initial angles and velocities to which satellite may be subjected at any point in its orbit without causing it to tumble; charts presented indicate effect of parameters on allowable initial disturbance for stable operation.
