Reviews work of French investigator Kohn-Abrest on question of CO in automobile engines; he calls ratio of CO to CO2 (by volume) in exhaust gas, toxic factor; if this factor exceeds 0.01, gas is dangerous to health; in most automobiles factor is about unity; CO always indicates incomplete combustion and inefficiency and from this point of view its presence is to be deprecated; it can be much reduced by efficient carburetion. See brief translated abstract in Automotive Abstracts, vol. 5, no. 1, Jan. 20, 1927, p. 12.
