Standard type operates with pressure from 12 to 14 atmospheres; air is contained in reservoir mounted on frame of locomotive and is conducted from reservoir through pressure-reduction valve by opening main stop valve; they are built principally in two sizes, as standard locomotives for main traffic in transverse galleries to haul long trains, and as collecting locomotive, which collects trucks at face of mine and conveys them to side galleries.
