Describes measured mile trials of five motorships constructed by Deutsche Werft, Hamburg; ship trials were carried out in deep ballast condition, all tanks being filled, and, in addition, 1000 tons of sand ballast was carried; determination of wind influence upon vessel's speed performance; analysis of service statistics of vessels; data appear to show definite improvement for airfoil screw fitted on four vessels over normal screw fitted in first vessel. See brief translated abstract in Mar. Engr. and Motorship Bldr., vol. 50, no. 597, May 1927, p. 197.
