This tie weighs less than 160 kg. so that it can be easily lifted and carried by three or four men; inclination of rails is obtained by bearing surface being cast at proper angle; tie is properly reinforced and is very strong. (See also Oriental Engr., vol. 8, no. 10, Oct. 1927, pp. 19-27, 2 figs.)
