Tests were carried out on power consumption of an electric automobile equipped with three different kinds of non-pneumatic tires; one was common solid type, another solid type with somewhat wedge-shaped section and third was type of tire with hollow space in middle; it was found that wedge-shaped solid tire consumed great deal less power than ordinary solid and that ordinary solid consumed much less power than tire with hollow space. See brief translated abstract in Automotive Abstracts, vol. 5, no. 6, June 20, 1927, p. 178.
