Successful tests carried out on Turbomeca jet unit with variable augmentation by ducted fan, developed in France; it embodies variable circulation system evolved by M.SZYDLOWSKI in which ratio of augmentation is controllable to establish optimum propulsive efficiency over range of aircraft speeds; it incorporates " centrifugal injection" system in which fuel, supplied along main shaft, is atomized and projected into annular combustion chamber through radial holes in thrower flange.
