New 8 1/2-ton Diesel electric rail traveling cranes, for track laying work for London Midland Region of British Railways, can be used to take up and relay up to mile of track in a day; equipped with McLaren Ricardo 3-cyl Diesel engine, developing 82 1/2 bhp at 1100 rpm, coupled to Lancashire dynamo and Crypto 280 v, 54-kw, compound wound generator.
