Flutter boundaries obtained from experiments are compared with various theoretical predictions; modal analysis of Donnell's equations is used in conjunction with piston theory and potential solution of R.W.Leonard and J.M.Hedgepeth; it was found that pressurized cylindrical shells fluttered at lower level of freestream energy than predicted by either theory; of two results, that using piston theory appears to correspond more closely to experiment.
