In May 1966, under threat of United States withdrawal from 1929 Warsaw Convention, over 30 of world's leading international airlines agreed to increase limit of their passenger legal liability from United States $8300 (Warsaw) or United States $16,600 (Hague) to United States $75,000 (inclusive of legal costs) or $58,000 (plus costs) for passengers traveling to, from or via United States; Air Law Group of Royal Aeronautical Society organized international discussion held on June 1 1967 aims of which were to review present position nationally and internationally and possible future developments from viewpoint of both airlines and passengers.
